Pharmacological action: Mucilaginous, laxative.
Medicinal use: Effective in febrile conditions, chronic constipation, amoebic and bacillary dysentery and diarrhea. Also used in rheumatic and glandular swelling and urethritis. Helps lower cholesterol and regulates blood sugar.
